CEP technical report
United Nations Environment Programme

During the past two decades awareness of the steadily growing pollution of the coastal and marine areas of the Wider Caribbean Region (WCR) became increasingly apparent. In response to this concern, national research institutions and international organizations have undertaken technical actions as well as the preparation of legal instruments for the prevention and control of marine and coastal pollution within the Wider Caribbean Region.

United Nations Environment Programme World Conservation Monitoring Centre (United Nations Environment Programme-WCMC)

This study was commissioned by the Yukon Parks Branch of the Department of Environment, Government of Yukon. Its purpose is to assess the significance of the Peel Watershed, a wilderness region within the central Yukon that is currently undergoing a regional planning process to determine the appropriate balance of uses for the future, Including conservation, traditional use, economic development and resource extraction. This report provides an international perspective to the significance of the Peel Watershed within the Arctic, focusing on the extent and quality of this wilderness particularly with respect to its biodiversity and recreational values. Implications of Climate Change in West and Central African Region: An Overview. UNEP Regional Seas Reports and Studies No. 148
United Nations Environment Programme

Despite the uncertainties that surround the predicted climate change, greenhouse gases seems to have accumulated in the atmosphere to a level that changes may have started already and their continuation may be inevitable. The environmental problems associated with the expected climate change may prove to be among the environmental problems facing the marine environment and the adjacent coastal areas in the near future. This overview report attempts to assess the possible impacts of predicted climate change

Aspectos Ambientales en Mineria de Metales No Ferrosos (Cu, Ni, Pb, Zn, Au) - Inforne Tecnico No. 5
United Nations Environment Programme

Equity and Social Considerations Related to Climate Change: Papers Presented at the IPCC Working Group III Workshop on Equity and Social Considerations Related to Climate Change, Nairobi, Kenya, 18-22 July 1994
United Nations Environment Programme, World Meteorological Organization

The purpose of the workshop was; to provide a broad base of input to the writing of the draft chapters for IPCC's Second Assessment Report, and to provide an opportunity for policy advisors in several regions of the world to gain a better understanding of the scope and nature of Working Group Ill's assignment. Working Group Ill has been charged with addressing the so-called cross-cutting issues related to greenhouse gases and climate change. This means primarily those issues of a regional or global social and economic nature, and evaluation of policy options. Many of these aspects of climate science, especially in the social and economic sciences, are new departures for IPCC.
