Africa Environmental Education and Training Action Plan 2015-2024: Strengthening Sustainable Development in Africa

The main objective of the Africa Environmental Education and Training Action Plan (AEETAP) is to enhance community environmental education and training within the continent, through various formal education, training, lifelong learning and capacity building programmes and projects, encouraging participation of both males and females equally. These programmes and projects are envisaged to fundamentally improve the environmental, societal and economic state of Africa for the benefit of Africa’s people, and are closely aligned to the five AMCEN flagship programmes.

Recommended Strategy for Conflict Resolution of Competing High Pasture Claims of Settled and Nomadic Communities in Afghanistan

The objective of this document is to lay out a possible road map through which conflicts between settled populations and nomads over access to summer pastures may begin to be resolved. It does not attempt to resolve the conflict but to lay out factors which need to be taken into account and to suggest a workable process. The overall goal is to advance peace and sustainable pasture utilization, impeded by these conflicts.The road-map is prepared for all stakeholders including settled and nomadic communities themselves and their traditional and political representatives.

Climate Change Strategy for the Nairobi Convention

The Climate Change Strategy for the Western Indian Ocean region is an operational framework to foster regional cooperation in addressing the impacts of climate change by assessing the degree of preparedness and the vulnerability and adaptive options of communities within the Nairobi Convention area. It takes into account the existence of national climate change strategies and complements national actions by encouraging collaborative e orts by States with the aim of sustainably managing marine and coastal ecosystems by enhancing the resilience and adaptive capacities of socio-ecological systems, individually or collectively, in order to maximize resource use, and by avoiding duplication of effort.
