State of the Environment Report - GEO Saint Lucia

This is the first State of the Environment Report for Saint Lucia. This was an effort of the Sustainable Development and Environment Section of the Ministry of Physical Development, Environment and Housing. The report was developed in consultation with public and private sector agencies, as well as non-governmental agencies (NGOs) and community based organization (CBOs). The report speaks to 3 Key Systems namely: Marine and Coastal Systems, Forest Systems and Fresh Water Systems and 5 Key issues||Land Use Management, Waste Management, Chemical Use, Climate Change and Air and Noise Pollution.

The GEO Year Book 2006 is the third annual survey of the changing global environment produced by the United Nations Environment Programme, in collaboration with many world experts in environmental research and action. The Year Book includes global and regional overviews. It highlights the linkages between environmental well-being, vulnerability and poverty||records recent findings on the value of ecosystem services||and describes new research findings on polar and ocean changes that may prove a turning point in the urgency of our awareness and response to global change.

GEO Juvenil Cuba es el que la juventud cubana presenta como parte de la familia de GEOs Juveniles. Este proceso involucra a todos los jóvenes, sin distinción de raza, cultura o creencias, abriendo un espacio para expresar qué sucede en nuestro entorno, qué podemos hacer para frenar o mitigar los impactos ambientales y en qué medida asumimos el compromiso que nos corresponde.
