Global climate change and coral reef: implications for people and reefs

The major theme of this report is an assessment of the potential and expected effects of global climate change on coral reef ecosystems and the peoples associated with them. This was the task of the UNEP-IOC-ASPEI-IUCN Global Task Team on the Implications of Climate Change on Coral Reefs, which was formed and supported by a cooperative effort of the participating agencies.

Aerosols sector conversion in action

This publication presents twelve technical case studies that address plant conversions to alternative technologies, including hydrocarbon aerosol propellants (HAP), manual pumps and DME propellants. It covers all sizes of enterprise, including small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as well as large scale facilities. Companies are located in China, Ecuador, India, Indonesia, Jordan, Mauritius, Mexico, Russian Federation, and Venezuela.

Accessing the Canopy : Assessment of Biological Diversity and Microclimate of the Tropical Forest Canopy: Phase I

UNEP's project Assessment of Biological Diversity and Microclimate of the Tropical Forest Canopy is a new venture to examine forest canopies by means of a tower crane. Accessing the Canopy is the first major report of the project's findings and it goes a long way towards showing us that the protection of the world's biodiversity can only really be accomplished if we continue to explore, assess and preserve it.
