The Conference i) requests Parties which had not yet informed the Secretariat of the designation or establishment of their
Competent Authorities, Focal Point and Dumpwatch to do so at the earliest; and ii) Encourages the Secretariat in collaboration with Parties to seek the necessary funds to convene a regional training workshop for Competent Authorities, Focal Points and Dumpwatches on the use of the control system associated with the Import-Export of hazardous wastes.

The Conference inter alia, i) urges, Parties and other African states that have not already done so, to enhance or supplement existing
legislation to prevent illegal and unwanted traffic in hazardous and other e-waste from entering their territory and the African Continent; and ii) encourages, Parties, and other African states to likewise create and adopt legislation for individual producer responsibility in the collection and environmentally sound recycling of domestic arisings of ewaste in the Continent of Africa.

The Conference adopts the Work Plan and Budget for the year 2014
