Forty-eight National Ozone Officers (NOOs) from South Asia, South East Asia and West Asia attended the Joint Network Meeting in Beijing on 8th April 2018. The Joint Network Meeting was held back-to-back with ‘Ozone2Climate’ Technology Roadshow and Industry Roundtable, and organized by UN Environment’s OzonAction in collaboration with the Foreign Economic Cooperation Office for China, Ministry of Ecology and Environment (FECO MEE).

The ‘Border Dialogue for HCFC (hydrochlorofluorocarbon) Trade Coordination and Cooperation’ took place from 9-10 May 2018 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This thematic meeting was hosted by the Government of Bangladesh and organized in collaboration with UN Environment’s OzonAction Compliance Assistance Programme (CAP) to support countries in implementing their commitments under the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer.

Athens, 22‐24 May 2015 – In collaboration with the ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers) Hellenic Chapter in Greece, UNEP OzonAction led a special session on marine refrigerated shipping and fishing vessels including new and emerging ozone‐friendly, climate‐friendly and energy‐efficient refrigeration technologies, vessel registration practices, as well as rules and policies for the management of refrigerants as required under the Montreal Protocol and in particular hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs).

The workshop was organised by UN Environment OzonAction in collaboration with the Government of South Africa.

Briefing and Information Documents Asia Pacific Law Enforcements honoured for Helping Protect Ozone Layer
Bangkok, 20 May2015 – It was a proud day for law enforcers in Asia Pacific region receiving the first ever Asia Environmental Enforcement Award (AEEA) for their key roles in helping protect the atmospheric ozone layer that shields us from ultraviolet radiation harmful to human health and planetary life support systems. The award was conferred by UNEP Executive Director and United Nations Under‐Secretary‐General, Achim Steiner, on national law enforcement bodies from India, the Philippines and the Kingdom of Tonga as well as a regional organization combating environmental crime, at a ceremony in Bangkok during the First Forum of Ministers & Environment Authorities of Asia Pacific, held from 19‐20 May 2015.
