Briefing and Information Documents Report on the LifeWeb-Spain UNEP-CEP Meeting on Scenarios for Transboundary Marine Mammal Management in the Wider Caribbean, San Juan, Puerto Rico, 23 - 24 April 2014
In keeping with the objectives of Protocol on Specially Protected Areas and Wildlife in the Caribbean (SPAW), its Action Plan for the Conservation of Marine Mammals in the Wider Caribbean Region, and the Programme of Work for Protected Areas under the Convention of Biological Diversity (CBD), the Government of Spain and UNEP have developed a partnership in support of LifeWeb, which includes a Project: "Broad-scale Marine Spatial Planning of Marine Mammal Corridors and Protected Areas in Wider Caribbean and Southeast & Northeast Pacific”

Meeting reports and proceedings Report on the Workshop of Global Coral Reef Monitoring Network (GCRMN) for the Wider Caribbean: Review, Improve and Revitalize the Network and the Nodes for more effective Coral Reef Monitoring and Data Management , Curacao, 6 - 8 August 2014
The Workshop aimed to support the region-wide coral reef monitoring, so far coordinated through the GCRMN and UNEP-CEP as focal point. The main goal was to revitalize and organize the coordination of coral reef monitoring conducted across the region by providing concrete solutions that would improve the network's capacities, through the following specific objectives: 1- Improve data collection & archiving; 2- Improve the network internal functioning for a better diffusion of information; 3 -Increase the support for regional and sub-regional cooperation

A presentation on the meeting objectives, topics to discuss, SPAW listing process, the CaMPAM Network and Forum, benefits to be SPAW-listed, as well as preliminary ideas on the vision, goals and elements of the cooperation program and network for the PAs listed (in keeping with Article 7 of the SPAW Protocol). The presentation also included request for feedback from sites on how to increase nominations, as well as on their potential contribution or strengths to the SPAW PA network and other sites from SPAW Parties
