UNEP and China co‐organise “Ozone2Climate” Technology Roadshow and Industry Roundtable in Shanghai

Shanghai, 8‐10 April 2015 ‐ The Ozone2Climate (O2C) Technology Roadshow and Industry Roundtable were held as part of the 26th International China Refrigeration Exhibition (CRH 2015) from 8 ‐10 April 2015 in Shanghai. This exhibition covers refrigeration, air conditioning, heating and ventilation, frozen food processing, packaging and storage. The focus of the Technology Roadshow
and Industry Roundtable were to accelerate the phase‐out of HCFCs and promote non ozonedepletion potential (ODP) and lower global‐warming potential (GWP) alternatives, as well as to develop green technologies which are environmentally‐friendly and ozone‐friendly and achieve better social, economic and environmental benefits.

The Ozone Unit of the National Environmental Protection Agency in collaboration with Afghanistan Customs Department Celebrates International Customs Day, 26th January 2015, Kabul

Kabul, 26 January 2015 - The National Ozone Unit (NOU) of Afghanistan and Afghanistan Customs Department (ACD) celebrated the “International Customs Day” at the Afghanistan Customs Department Head Quarter in Kabul. Following the 2015 theme which is “Coordinated Border Management”, the National Ozone Unit utilized the opportunity to focus on the management of Ozone Depleting Substances (ODS) and their imports and transits from the neighboring countries.

The meeting hosted by the Government of the Republic of Korea is being organised as part of the UNEP Compliance Assistance Programme (CAP) funded by the Multilateral
Fund for the Implementation of the Montreal Protocol.

Goyang City, 10‐13 March 2015 ‐ The 3rd “Ozone2Climate” Technology Roadshow and Industry Roundtable under the UNEP‐USEPA grant partnership project was organised by UNEP OzonAction ROAP team in association with Korean Refrigeration and Air‐Conditioning
Industry Association (KRAIA). The Technology Roadshow was organised as a part of the 13th Heating, Air‐conditioning, Refrigeration and Fluid Exhibition – Korea (HARFKO) held from 10 – 13 March 2015 in the Kintex Exhibition Center II, Goyang City, Republic of Korea (ROK).

UNEP OzonAction hosts HCFC Control Policy and Enforcement Consultation for the Democratic People's Republic of Korea

Bangkok, 27‐28 April 2015 – The UNEP OzonAction Compliance Assistance Program (CAP) in the Regional Office for Asia Pacific (ROAP) organized a consultation for the inter‐ministry delegation from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea with the aim of accelerating
national efforts to reduce production and consumption of hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) which are ozone‐depleting substances (ODS) controlled under the Montreal Protocol.

Asia Pacific Law Enforcements honoured for Helping Protect Ozone Layer

Bangkok, 20 May2015 – It was a proud day for law enforcers in Asia Pacific region receiving the first ever Asia Environmental Enforcement Award (AEEA) for their key roles in helping protect the atmospheric ozone layer that shields us from ultraviolet radiation harmful to human health and planetary life support systems. The award was conferred by UNEP Executive Director and United Nations Under‐Secretary‐General, Achim Steiner, on national law enforcement bodies from India, the Philippines and the Kingdom of Tonga as well as a regional organization combating environmental crime, at a ceremony in Bangkok during the First Forum of Ministers & Environment Authorities of Asia Pacific, held from 19‐20 May 2015.

“Marine Refrigerated Vessels: Technologies and Refrigerant Management” UNEP Session at the International Conference on Energy and Environment in Ships

Athens, 22‐24 May 2015 – In collaboration with the ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers) Hellenic Chapter in Greece, UNEP OzonAction led a special session on marine refrigerated shipping and fishing vessels including new and emerging ozone‐friendly, climate‐friendly and energy‐efficient refrigeration technologies, vessel registration practices, as well as rules and policies for the management of refrigerants as required under the Montreal Protocol and in particular hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs).
