Meeting reports and proceedings, Reports and Books Legal Readiness for Climate Finance: Private Sector Opportunities - Report and Findings of Roundtable held at King’s College London, 25 January 2019
This report summarises the agenda and findings of the Legal Readiness for Climate Finance: Private Sector Opportunities roundtable co-convened by King’s College London, UN Environment, and Legal Response International. It is part of an ongoing King’s College
London/UN Environment partnership to stimulate collaborations and mutual learning between public and private stakeholders in developing and developed countries for transformational change.
This roundtable was aimed at the public sector and focused on experiences of Kenya and Mexico as case-studies. Delegates at that workshop subsequently indicated a strong desire to engage with the private sector, especially lawyers, financiers, and investors.

The present document provides a synthesis of the voluntary submissions prepared by functional commissions of the Economic and Social Council and other intergovernmental bodies and forums. It synthesizes the 62 voluntary submissions received as at 23 April 2019 and does not suggest a formal reporting link to the forum or modify any entity’s mandate or governance. It reflects how the intergovernmental bodies are responding to the theme of the 2019 high-level political forum, including the lessons learned, gaps and challenges and emerging issues identified, as well as the recommendations developed, by the entities.

The State of the Marine Ecosystems and shared Living Marine Resource in the CLME+ report and the Regional Strategy and Action Plan will cover the management and protection of coral reefs and associated sub-ecosystems, namely, mangroves and sea grass beds. The report and the strategy will consider impacts of climate change and adaptation, as well as socio-economic issues such as gender and poverty.
