Environmental Laws & Regulations in China and Rules of WTO (A Chinese-English Version) [Part A]

Environmental regulation and the rules on trade are impacting one another. This compilation, in the form of bilingual Chinese-English version, has collected the major environmental laws, regulations and other regulatory instruments, which having direct or indirect impact on trade, investment and development projects, the rules of various WTO agreements with impact on environmental protection. The trade-related provisions in major international environmental treaties and the environment-related provisions in the legal instruments on China's accession into WTO are also included. This compilation was organized by the Department of Policy & Law of the State environmental Protection Administration, it could be used as the guideline for international traders and investors to get familiar with and comply with the Chinese environmental laws and regulations, it could also be used as the indispensable deskbook for those in the environmental departments and other related sectors to understand and apply the rules of WTO, especially those provisions related to the environmental protection.

Infoterra: 15 Years of Making a Difference - Exchange of Environmental Experience Series No. 4

The series, entitled Exchange of Environmental Experience, grew out of a recognition that a great deal of valuable experience on the environment was being shared through the INFOTERRA network, and perhaps much of this information warranted a wider audience. The substantive information given to one user upon request might be of interest to others.

This volume of the EEE series "INFOTERRA 15 Years of Making a Difference " aims to convey to the public a number of success stories of the INFOTERRA network and its impact on sustainable development.The success stories related here have been submitted by the involved INFOTERRA national focal points and researched by the staff of the INFOTERRA Programme Activity Centre as completely as resources have permitted.

Assessment of Urban Air Quality

The overall purpose of this report is: - to continue the ongoing process of producing periodic evaluations of the global air pollution situation in urban areas; - to continue to develop and advance the techniques used for evaluating air pollution monitoring data with regard to human exposure and the associated risks implied; - to prepare a background document for consideration by the forthcoming
meeting of Government Designated Experts on the GEMS Health Related Monitoring Programme which is scheduled to be held in Geneva in June 1988.
