Maldives and Sri Lanka upgrade RAC skills through the Refrigerant Driving License (RDL) Program

The RDL program arises from the need for a responsible and safe transition to next generation refrigerants. The RDL is a refrigerant management qualification program jointly developed by AHRI and UNEP OzonAction and supported by key international industry associations. The RDL sets minimum competencies and skills for the HVAC&R (Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning and refrigeration) servicing network (individuals and companies) and creates an internationally recognised program through industry and governments.

The Special Monitoring and Coastal Environmental Assessment Regional Activity Centre (CEARAC) is one of the four Regional Activity Centres (RACs) to coordinate activities relevant to specific components of the Action Plan for the Protection, Management and Development of the Marine and Coastal Environment of the Northwest Pacific Action Plan (NOWPAP). Since its inception in 2002, CEARAC has been mainly working on monitoring and assessing harmful algal blooms (under Working Group 3) and application of remote sensing techniques to the study on the marine and coastal environment (Working Group 4).

The Pollution Monitoring Regional Activity Center (POMRAC) is one of the four Regional Activity Centers (RACs) established to coordinate activities relevant to specific components of the Action Plan for the Protection, Management and Development of the Marine and Coastal Environment of the Northwest Pacific Action Plan (NOWPAP). Initially, POMRAC had the responsibility to implement activities related to atmospheric deposition of contaminants and river and direct inputs of contaminants.
