Reports and Books African Elephant Fund: Transforming Strategies into Action United Nations Environment Programme
The African Elephant Fund, which is a partnership venture between the United Nations Environment Programme, the Secretariat of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, donor States and range States, have been working together to curtail the growing threats to elephant populations. Efforts to meet this objective have been stepped up since the adoption of the Action Plan in 2010. The lessons learned and recommendations outlined in this publication offer comparative strategies for possible replication in implementing the Action Plan, serving potentially as a critical resource for policymakers, development practitioners and those involved in the conservation of elephants. It is hoped that country initiatives such as these will continue to be developed and lend further momentum to national and regional efforts to strengthen elephant conservation.
